Larry Page Biography

In 1973 Larry Page was born in Michigan. Both the parents of Larry Page were computer experts. Larry Page is also an internet entrepreneur and a computer scientist. Larry Page’s education background is computer science engineering at Stanford University with his schoolmate Sergey Brin. He joined hands with his school friend Sergey Brin and launched the search engine termed Google in 1998. Later, Larry pages became the world's most popular search engine. Later, Page and Brin took charge of Google’s new parent company Alphabet and later they stepped down from the role in late 2019. 

Early Life Of Larry Page

Larry Page was born in Lansing Michigan on March 26 1973. Carl Victor Page Sr is the father of Larry Page, he was a computer science professor at  Michigan State University. The mother of Larry, Gloria is Jewish, His maternal grandfather immigrated to Israel in later days. Gloria was an instructor of computer programming at Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University. But the page was not following any specific religion or was not influenced by them. He declared himself as not belonging to any religion. Larry Page completed his PhD in computer science from the University of Michigan. Later, BBC reporters started describing him as a "pioneer in computer science and artificial intelligence".

As per larry page autobiography, from an earlier age on Larry page, his home was usually messed with computer science and technology magazines and other innovative magazines. Such an environment helps him to immerse himself in the computer. Larry Page Education Background

Larry Page started his schooling in Okemos Montessori School in Okemos, Michigan and studied here from the age of 2 to 7 years. Later he switched to East Lansing High School and completed his schooling in 1991. He will attend a summer class from Interlochen Center and learn to play the flute and saxophone for two summer classes. Larry Page obtained his Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and was honoured with a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University. While he was studying at the  University of Michigan, he created an inkjet printer made of Lego bricks. Later he found that it is possible to print large posters at a low cost using an inkjet cartridge and he replaced the inkjet printer. 

He also built the electronics and mechanics to drive the inkjet printer. Later, Larry Page worked as the president of the Beta Epsilon chapter of the Eta Kappa Nu fraternity and became a member of the "Maize & Blue" University of Michigan Solar Car team from 1993. During his undergraduate, he proposed the schools replace their bus system with a personal rapid transit system, which plays an important role in driverless monorail with separate cars for every passenger. He also developed various business plans for a company to use software with the music synthesizer.

He enrolled himself in the PhD program in computer science at  Stanford University. Later he started analysing his thesis and considered exploring the mathematical properties of the World Wide Web. He used huge graphs to explain and make understand the link structure of the World wide web. Terry Winograd, mentor of Larry, supported and encouraged him to attempt his idea. He has also done many experiments and research based on  telepresence and self-driving cars.

Larry mainly concentrated on finding the problems which are raised during the web pages linked and considered the number and nature of such backlinks as valuable information for that page. His childhood friend Sergey Brin joined him and together worked on a research paper titled "The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine", which later became one of the most downloaded scientific documents in history of the Internet at the time.

The Invention of Google With Sergey Brin

While doing PhD at Stanford University, Page and Brin created a search engine as a research project.  According to their search engine project, the site should list according to the popularity of the page and concluded that the most popular page was often recognized as the most useful page and shown first in the search results. They named this search engine ‘Google’. Which means the mathematical term "googol,". The term googol refers to the No. 1 followed by 100 zeros. To show the accurate result from the search engine, they added an immense amount of information on the web.

Later, Larry and Sergey raised $1million from their family, friends and other investors and launched the pair of companies in 1998. In 2013, Google became the world’s most popular search engine and on average they received about 5.9 billion searches per. The headquarters of Google is in the heart of California's Silicon Valley. In August 2004, Google held its initial public offering and this makes Page and Brin billionaires.

How Larry Page Came Out Of Google?

Later, Google turned to evolve as a Conglomerate, which means a single industry acquiring multiple related companies. In 2006, google purchased the most popular video streaming platform youtube for  $1.65 billion in stock.

According to the Forbes 400 list in 2013, Larry page ranked No. 13 in the list of richest people in America. In Forbes 13, Larry page holded the rank No 17 in the "Most Powerful People" list. Both Larry Page and Brin were the Google CEOs and shared responsibility for the company's operations. Also, Brin served as director of special projects for Google, and Eric Schmidt, the company's executive chairman. This was the most booming period in Larry Page's Biography. 

In 2015, Page and Brin were about to create Alphabet as a new parent company to oversee Google and other subsidiaries. Page and Brin were the CEO and President of Alphabet and  Sundar Pichai entered Google as a top executive.

Page and Brin took more efforts to restructure Google and got an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day operations of the company. The CEO of Alphabet was noticeably absent for Alphabet's meetings and quarterly earnings calls. Later in 2018, Larry page also avoided appearing for the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is a part of hearings into the use of Big Tech to meddle in foreign elections. Autonomous Air Taxi

Another important turn in Larry Page's life story is in March 2018. He personally funded the company Kitty Hawk and reached an agreement with officials in New Zealand to start the certification process on a fully electric, self-piloting flying taxi.

Now, Kitty Hawk is testing their aircraft with the nickname Cora. They join hands with Boeing, Airbus and Uber among the companies and are looking to break ground in the burgeoning air taxi industry. The main aim of  Kitty Hawk is to have a commercial network of vehicles up and running by 2021.
