Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad) for students in grades 1 to 10 yearly. The primary purpose of this test is to develop a keen interest in general knowledge and current events in the students.
IGKO is a single-level competitive exam that enables students to hone their general awareness at several levels. The exam is for Classes 1 to 10 and any student can participate in this Olympiad and win amazing prizes and awards. Participants are ranked based on their scores in the exam at School, Zonal, State, National and International levels.
SOF has released the IGKO exam 2022-2023 dates on its official website: sofworld.org. The IGKO exam 2022 will be conducted on September 15 and October 11, 2022.
Schools must select a particular exam date as per their convenience. Each date has a separate question paper.
It is an objective-type test that will be conducted during school hours in offline mode.
There will be 35 Multiple Choice Questions for Class 1 to 4 and 50 Multiple-Choice Questions for Class 5 to 10 in the exam paper. The test is of 60 minutes duration.
Exam results are expected to be declared in January 2023 on the official website, sofworld.org.
Schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal must pay a registration fee of Rs. 125 per student.

Any student studying in an accredited school in India that follows a recognised and reputable board such as CBSE, ICSE, ISC, and other state boards is eligible to compete in the exam. Below are the eligibility criteria to take the IGKO exam 2022:
Students from these schools must be in Classes 1 to 10.
There are no minimum marks criteria.

Students should have command in General Knowledge and Current Affairs to appear for IGKO 2022.
There is no provision for negative marking.
The exam is based on the syllabus of the respective classes.
The exam will be held in English medium only.
IGKO exam 2022 is open for students from Classes 1 to 10.
The application process will be held at schools only. All the vital data related to the exam is sent to the registered schools.

Participating schools should have at least 10 students for the exam.
Students can access the IGKO exam result 2022 on the official website. SOF will declare the results, probably, in January 2023.
The International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is a written objective-type test with a duration of 60 minutes. Students for Classes 1 to 4 will be asked 35 MCQ-type questions while from Classes 5 to 10, it is a 50 MCQ-based question test.

This is the most important category that contains a maximum weightage of 50-55%. Students can score in this section as it covers vast topics from the school curriculum, especially subjects like Social Studies, Universe and the World, Science, technology, language, etc.

Stay focused on sports, discoveries, awards, etc.

This section comprises 5 Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Questions on the topics. This section contains more weightage than other sections; 2 marks for Classes 1 to 4 and 3 marks for Classes 5 to 10.
