Students aspiring to secure a seat in NITs, IITs, or IIITs often ask about the JEE number of attempts for IIT JEE 2025 to prepare accordingly.

Students must know that JEE Main 2025 exams will be held in two sessions. If a candidate appears for the Class 12th Board Exams in 2025, he/she can still appear in both sessions of JEE Main 2025.

Advantages of Two Attempts For JEE Main 2025

Do you know how taking the IIT exam twice a year benefits candidates? First of all, candidates need to keep one thing in mind it is not necessary to take two attempts. If an individual is satisfied with one attempt, he/she can skip the next attempt and wait for the AIRs to be declared. However, in a few exceptional cases, the following benefits can be availed if they go for the 2nd attempt. Take a look:

  • Thanks to the JEE attempt limit, candidates can improve their scores on the 2nd JEE attempt if they cannot achieve desired marks on the first attempt.

  • The 2nd JEE Main attempt will enable candidates to overcome their mistakes & shortcomings from the last session, if any.

  • The biggest benefit of two attempts is to reduce the chances of dropping a whole year to prepare again. Candidates can perform better in the next session.

  • Last but not least, if any candidate loses the chance of appearing in the first session for illness or injuries, they will not have to wait for the next year.

  • To appear for the JEE Main sessions, candidates must register separately for January and April exams.

JEE Main Score Card 2025 Validity

All students taking the second session of JEE Main must know that the scores of JEE Main 2025 are valid only for the current year, i.e. for the year for which they’ve appeared. Candidates who appear for the JEE Main 2025 can apply to an engineering institution only for that academic year, i.e. 2025-26.

Every year, JEE Main exams offer aspirants admissions into courses like B.Tech., B.Arch., B.Plan & B.E. in top NITs, IITs or CFTIs, etc. A candidate must score well in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Main. Here are the subject combinations for all the subjects. Take a look:
