Where does water come from? It does not come from one source. There are many sources of water. We have discussed the sources of water for kids below. 

  • When we think about water sources, we immediately start thinking, where does water come from? For those who live in a city, perhaps their water comes from a lake or a river. If you want to know about the sources of water for kids, this is the most common source that you can find. 

  • If someone lives on a farm, he might get water from a well. Well is a common way of getting groundwater. Since the water can be purified, anyone can drink it.

  • The ocean is the biggest source of water. At least 97% of water is available in the oceans. 

  • Half of 1 percent of the freshwater on the earth is available in groundwater, and less is available in lakes and rivers.

  • Glaciers and ice caps are sources of water too. But only 2.4% of water is found here. But the water has permanently frozen.

  • In the villages, people can get water from canals, but they use it for washing clothes and doing other household work. 

  • But nowadays people use underground water by using many machines. Those machines purify the water and make it drinkable.
