NEET Qualifying Exam Code 2025- Eligibility Criteria

As per the official NEET 2025 eligibility guidelines, candidates in the general category must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually. In addition, candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology combined).

For candidates from the SC/ST/OBC categories, the required minimum aggregate is 40%, while candidates with disabilities (PwD) must have at least 45%. Those who have completed their higher secondary education abroad must have passed their qualifying exams with a combined minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Qualifying Exam Code for NEET 2025- Understanding the Codes

Candidates must understand the NEET qualification code 2025 before filling out the application form. This ensures that all aspirants can correctly select the NEET 2025 qualification code, which determines their eligibility. Below, we explain the NEET qualification codes for 2025 in a simplified manner for better understanding.

NEET Code 1

Candidates who are currently appearing for the qualifying examination (Class 12) or awaiting results must select this code. However, it is important to note that if the candidate fails after the announcement of the results, they will no longer be eligible for admission. Students must also provide the necessary documents to prove that they meet the qualifying requirements for the NEET 2025 exam.

NEET Code 2

• For Candidates Who Have Completed Their 12th- Aspirants who have completed the Higher/Secondary Examination (Class 12) under the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), equivalent to the Class 10+2, can opt for NEET code 2. However, the last two years of study must include subjects such as English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, Mathematics, or other electives, as prescribed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

• Candidates with NIOS or Open Schooling- Aspirants who have completed Class 12 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or state open schools as private candidates with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject can also apply for NEET 2025 under qualification code 2.

• Additional Information- It should be noted that candidates who passed their qualifying examination in 2019 from CBSE, ICSE, or any state board can also use NEET code 2 to apply for the NEET 2025 exam, even if they are repeat candidates (i.e., droppers).

NEET Code 3

Candidates who have completed their Intermediate/Pre-Examination degree in the Science stream from any recognised Indian University or Board, with compulsory subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, must opt for NEET Code 3. The qualifying examination must also include practical tests in these subjects.

NEET Code 4

This code applies to candidates who have completed a pre-professional or pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. After passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or Pre-University Examination or an equivalent exam, the candidate must select NEET Code 4. This examination should also include practical tests for all the relevant subjects.

NEET Code 5

Aspirants who have passed the first year of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (with practical tests) must opt for NEET Code 5. Candidates must also ensure that their first-year university exam is verified and that they have qualified Class 12 with the same subjects at a core level.

NEET Code 6

Candidates who have passed a B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) degree with at least two subjects, including Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, and Chemistry, can select NEET Code 6 as their qualifying exam code for NEET 2025. Additionally, they must have passed the Class 10+2 qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

NEET Code 7

This code applies to candidates who have passed any other examination equivalent to the intermediate science examination of a recognised university or board. To use NEET Code 7, candidates must have completed two years of study in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, and must have also passed practical tests in these subjects.

NEET Code 7- Equivalent Intermediate Science Examination

Candidates who have completed any examination equivalent to the intermediate science examination of a recognised university or board can choose NEET Code 7 for the NEET 2025 exam. It is important to note that such candidates must have completed two years of study in the subjects of Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, and English. Additionally, they must have passed the corresponding practical tests in these subjects.
