Class 1 Chapter 15 CBSE Hindi Worksheets for - Mein Bhi

Summary:

Mein Bhi meaning me too is a poem with a great moral. The poem starts with two eggs. From the first egg a duckling came out and from the second came out a chicken. The chicken had this habit of saying “Mein bhi” and soon after taking birth, he started copying everything that the duckling does. When the Duckling went for a walk, the chicken followed. When the duckling digs a hole, the chicken digs a hole too. When the duckling caught a butterfly, the chicken caught the same one too. When the duckling went swimming the chicken followed again. But since the chicken cannot swim, he started screaming and finally, the duckling saved him. This poem which is chapter 15 explains in simple language the problems of copying.

Exercise:

The CBSE Class 1 Hindi, chapter 15 “Mein Bhi” has only two exercises:

  • The first one is “Naam Do” which is to say “Give a name”. The question says that since the chicken copies everything from the Duckling, give a name to the Chicken to tease him.

  • The second question is a practical exercise. A list of six things is given, you have to check whether they will swim or drown. For example, the first thing is Chalk, so what you have to do is to throw the chalk in the water and observe whether it is swimming or drowning. Since the chalk cannot swim on the surface of the water, you have to check under the “Dubega” column. (Dubega means- it will drown).

FAQs on CBSE Class 1 Hindi Worksheets for Chapter 15 - Mein Bhi

1. What values does the CBSE class 1 Hindi chapter 15 “Mein Bhi” teach us?

The CBSE Class 1 Hindi Chapter 15 “Mein Bhi” teaches us a strong moral. In our lives, we see many people who are not original, they copy others and try to be like them. Though it may be rewarding initially, it definitely will not last. Because those who copy obviously lack originality, hence they fail to understand their own pros and cons. Just like the chicken who did not understand that he could not swim. Copying hinders our self-growth and self-development. Hence, the value that this chapter teaches is “Be original”.

2. “Copying is a bad thing” is common knowledge. Why do I have to study the whole poem for it?

Yes, of course, “Copying is a bad thing” is a piece of common knowledge, but the problem is common knowledge is not that common. You can learn things in a better manner when they are demonstrated to you. Take an example of Maths, when the teacher teaches you a sum, he gives you many examples as a demonstration so that you can solve it like your teacher. Similarly, the poet has demonstrated the hindrance of being a copycat in the poem “Mein-bhi”. Because sometimes you may say that copying one time will not result in a bad thing, but this poem will remind you that the chicken started copying small things, but at last he was barely saved from drowning.

3. The poem is about being original, but the questions in the exercise do not ask anything regarding it, why so?

At first, it may seem as such, but exercise has its own lesson to teach you. The first question is simple, it asks you to give a name to the chicken to tease him, and you may have already given the answer by now. Now put yourself in the position of the chicken and see how you feel. I am sure you will not feel good when someone calls you by name. In such a manner this simple question makes you feel a bad feeling, and therefore you will never be a copycat.

Now coming to the second question, since the chapter is about originality it asks you to do the exercise by yourself and write down the answer. Hence, the poem practically teaches you to be original.
