Short Summary of Class 4 Chapter 2- Ear to Ear

This Chapter focuses on the different types of ears that different animals have, such as deer, crow, ant, snakes and elephants.


It then covers the functions of ears and their importance in birds. On both sides of a bird's head, there are tiny holes that are covered with a feather; these are the bird's ears that assist them in hearing. 


For lizards, the tiny holes which are present near its head are their ears. Even crocodiles have ears, but they are not so apparent. 


In this way, the Chapter deals in the identification of different animals based on their characteristics such as ears, and skin. There are different patterns on an animal's skin, which help us identify it.


This Chapter also mentions the animals which lay eggs. 


It concludes by stating that the animals whose ears are visible, have hair on their body and these animals give birth to young ones. On the other hand, the animals which do not have ears on the outside, and do not have hair on their body, lay eggs.
