JEE Main 2024 Tie Breaker
If multiple candidates achieve the same marks in the JEE Main 2024 exam, a tie-breaking rule is implemented. The following methods are employed to resolve the tie:
Tie Breaking for JEE Main Paper 1:
Priority is given to the Mathematics scores, followed by Physics and Chemistry.
Candidates with a higher number of correct answers are preferred over those with more incorrect answers.
In case the tie persists, the older candidate is given preference.
If the tie still remains, the application number is used as a determining factor, with preference given to lower application numbers.
Tie Breaking for JEE Main Paper 2:
Initially, Mathematics scores are considered. If the tie persists, the scores in Aptitude and Drawing sections are taken into account.
If the tie still remains unresolved, preference is given to candidates with more correct answers.
Older candidates are given preference if the tie still persists.
Finally, the application number is considered, with lower application numbers being prioritised.
These tie-breaking rules ensure fairness and establish a systematic approach for ranking candidates when they achieve the same scores in the JEE Main 2024 exam.
