JEE Mains 29 Jan Shift 1 Physics Question Paper Analysis:

  • The physics section in Session 1 was considered easy to moderate.

  • In Physics most of the questions came from Optics.

  • Chapters that were heavily focused on were Mechanics, Electrostatics, and Modern Physics.

  • Two questions about the galvanometer were asked.

  • Some students attempted 15 to 16 questions out of 25.

  • Numerical problems were slightly more challenging compared to previous years.

  • The paper was considered simple and straightforward, with questions spread across all difficulty levels.


JEE Mains 29 Jan Shift 1 Maths Question Paper Analysis:

  • The mathematics section in Session 1 was moderate to difficult.

  • This section had some lengthy or tricky questions.

  • Chapters that were heavily focused on were Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Algebra.

  • Maths lengthy questions asked from topics: definite integration, Sequence series, Integration, Limit, Differential, Long questions about vectors, 3D point of intersection.

  • Average students attempted 9 to 12 maths questions.

  • Some questions involved application of concepts to real-world scenarios.

  • Algebra and Differential Equations were also present, but in lesser proportion.

  • However, a good balance was maintained throughout the section.


JEE Mains 29 Jan Shift 1 Chemistry Question Paper Analysis:

  • The chemistry section in Session 1 was easy to moderate.

  • Organic chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry covered a major part of the section and physical Chemistry had only 8 questions

  • Chemistry questions were derived from metallurgy, while deleted syllabus questions came from ores. Some students attempted, while others were unable to. 

  • Questions involved numerical calculations, particularly in physical chemistry.

  • Questions ranged from factual to conceptual, with a focus on application-based problem-solving.

  • Some questions involved interlinking concepts from different areas of chemistry.

  • The JEE Main 2024 question paper will be available in 13 regional languages, including English and Hindi.

  • The exam will be conducted in two shifts: morning and afternoon.

  • The morning shift will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the afternoon shift will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

  • Candidates will be given three hours to complete the exam.

  • The exam will consist of 90 questions, divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
