Let Us Think

1. Have you seen a big laddoo? How big was it? Did you eat it all by yourself? Tell your friends about it.

Ans: Yes, I have seen a big laddoo! It was at a festival, and the laddoo was as big as a basketball! Everyone was amazed by its size. We all took pictures with it because it was such a fun sight.

I didn't eat it all by myself. It was too big for one person. Instead, we shared it with all our friends and family. We cut it into smaller pieces, and everyone got a taste. It was delicious and brought us all together, making the celebration even more special.

So, if you ever see a big laddoo, make sure to share it with your friends. It's not just about eating the sweet treat, but also about enjoying the moment and making memories with the people you care about.

2. Have you eaten anything that is very big? What was it? Talk about it.

Ans: Yes, I once had the chance to eat a very big pizza! It was at a pizza restaurant that was famous for making extra-large pizzas. The pizza was so big that it almost didn't fit on the table.

We ordered it for a special occasion with a group of friends. The pizza had all our favourite toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and extra cheese. When it arrived, we all couldn't believe how huge it was. It was cut into many slices, and even one slice was bigger than a regular pizza slice.

We all shared it and had a great time talking and laughing. Even though the pizza was really big, it was so tasty that we managed to finish it together. It was a fun and memorable experience, and we still talk about it whenever we meet. Sharing that big pizza made the occasion even more special and brought us all closer together.

3. What different kinds of laddoos have you eaten?

Ans: Laddoos come in a variety of delicious types! Here are some popular kinds:

  1. Besan Laddoo: Made from gram flour, ghee (clarified butter), and sugar, these are rich and slightly nutty in flavour.

  2. Rava Laddoo: Made with semolina, ghee, and sugar, often flavoured with cardamom and sometimes mixed with nuts and raisins.

  3. Coconut Laddoo: Made from grated coconut, sugar, and milk, these are sweet and have a lovely coconut flavour.

  4. Motichoor Laddoo: Made from tiny gram flour pearls cooked in sugar syrup and then shaped into laddoos. They have a delicate and sweet taste.

  5. Peda Laddoo: Similar to laddoo but often made with condensed milk and flavoured with cardamom, nuts, and sometimes saffron.

4. Name a few things that are round in shape. Can you eat all of them? Write them in the correct column.

5. The child threw the Big Laddoo into the sea. What do you think happened to the Laddoo?

Ans: When the Big Laddoo was thrown into the sea, it probably made a huge splash. It might have sunk to the bottom, or broken into pieces and floated on the water. The laddoo could have also been washed away by the waves. In a playful sense, the big splash would be a fun and exciting sight.

Let Us Speak

Jithu and Meena are friends. Meena cannot see properly. It was her birthday. Jithu gifted her a box of mixed sweets. She felt the sweets and excitedly picked up the big laddoo. She said, “I love laddoos!” Jithu was surprised and asked her, “How did you know it was a laddoo?”

Think and say what Meena answered

Ans: Meena might have answered, “I couldn’t see, but I felt sweet and knew it was a laddoo because it was round and soft. I’m used to the way laddoos feel, so I recognized it by touch. I’m happy it was a laddoo because I love them!”
