FMGE stands for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. This examination will be conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) which has been established in the year 1975 by the Government of India. The NBE being the deciding authority determines the FMGE 2025 eligibility criteria for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs). The eligibility criteria for FMGE 2025 are a set of rules and conditions that the aspirants need to full-fill, in order to be eligible for the screening test that will be conducted by the respective authorities. The screening test conducted by the authorities is for obtaining the provisional or permanent registration certificate from Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC) for the FMGE for Indian nationals or OCIs. The screening test is conducted by the NBE twice every year. FMGE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the tests, medical students are advised to go through the various requirements as mentioned for the eligibility for the FMGE exam 2025. The candidates who fail to fulfil the below-mentioned criteria will not be allowed to take up the screening test.
The foreign medical students hoping to apply must compulsorily be a citizen of India or should be Overseas Citizens of India.
The candidates must hold a primary medical qualification from any recognized institution. However, this institution must be confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy of that country.
Also, it is important that the aspirants must submit the required documents as the proof to support the fact that they have successfully completed and are qualified in the final examination of Primary Medical examination on or before the specified date.
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate, as well as their post graduation in respective medical qualifying exams from a set of countries, are not required to appear for the FMGE screening tests to obtain the provisional or permanent registration certificate. Aspirants from these countries can directly apply and register with the MCI or SMC for the certificate and continue their further practice in India. Fmge Eligibility Criteria 2025 - How Are The Candidates Deemed Ineligible?
The following are the various scenarios in which an aspirant is deemed ineligible to take up the screening test.
Candidates who do not provide the necessary documents before within the stipulated time are not eligible for the FMGE screening test. Once the application form of FMGE 2025 is filled, aspirants must send all the said documents as proof of eligibility to the respective authority. In cases of failing to do the same, the respective candidate’s application will be duly rejected.
In case if found submission of any wrong documents or incorrect details by the aspirants at any stage of admission, it will not be taken into account for the FMGE 2025 session by the authorities.
If the aspirants send their primary medical qualification degree, after the last date, then the candidate will not be considered eligible for the screening as per the eligibility criteria of the NBE.
