NEET 2021 in August: Check Eligibility Criteria and Statistics

The NEET exam will be held on August 1, 2021. To be eligible for the NEET exam, candidates must have passed the 12th Board examination in or before 2021. NTA will release the information bulletin and enable the NEET application link on its official website, shortly. The entire application process will be conducted online. Candidates will get all details regarding the eligibility criteria, application fees, seat-reservations, state codes, exam centers, etc in the NEET information bulletin.

As per the latest notification from NTA, the information bulletin will be released shortly once the application window opens.

NEET Eligibility

To be eligible for the NEET exam, candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology in their +2. Also, they should have studied English as one of the main subjects in Class 12. They must have passed their 12th Board exams or should be appearing for the 12th Board exams in 2021 to be eligible for NEET. The general category candidates were required to score a minimum of 50 percent of marks in the 12th Board exams to be eligible for NEET 2020.


Till last year, the upper age limit for NEET candidates was 25 years, however, the final upper age limit for NEET 2021 is yet to be announced by the Supreme Court. There was a relaxation of 5 years for the reserved category candidates. The lower age limit for NEET 2021 remains at 17 years.


NEET 2021 Updates

  • NEET will be conducted only once this year, on August 1, 2021.

  • It is scheduled to be held in an offline mode.

  • The NEET 2021 question paper will be available in 11 languages, namely,

  1. English

  2. Hindi

  3. Kannada

  4. Assamese

  5. Bengali

  6. Gujarati

  7. Tamil

  8. Marathi

  9. Telugu

  10. Odia

  11. Urdu

Statistics of NEET 2020

About 16 lacs candidates had registered for NEET 2020, and approximately 90 percent of the registered candidates had taken the exam. The NEET exam was conducted twice last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The first exam was held on 13 September 2020. NTA conducted the NEET exam on 14 October 2020, for the candidates who were unable to take the exam on the previous date. However, a consolidated result for both slots was declared on 16 October 2020.
