The National Medical Commission (NMC) has updated the syllabus for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024. The new syllabus is available on the NMC website. The NEET UG exam is a single-window entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs in India. It is one of the most competitive exams in the country, with millions of students appearing each year.
The NEET UG Syllabus is divided into three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The Biology syllabus has undergone the most significant changes in the new update, with several topics being deleted and new topics being added.
The following are some of the key changes to the NEET UG 2024 syllabus:
Deleted Topics: Taxonomic Aid, Angiosperm Secondary Growth, Transport in Plants (except Xylem and Phloem), Mineral Nutrition, Vernalization and Seed Dormancy, Sense Organs, Digestion and Absorption, Reproduction in Organisms, Strategies for Enhancement in Food Production, Succession, Environmental Issues
Added Topics: Specific plant families (Malvaceae, Cruciferae, Leguminoceae, Compositae, Gramineae) and study of Insect (Frog)
Deleted Topics: States of Matter (Physical Chemistry), S-block (Inorganic Chemistry), Environmental Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Solid State
Deleted Topics: Doppler Effect, Rolling Motion, Heat Engine & Refrigerator, Potentiometer, Transistor, Alpha, Beta, Gamma Decay.
Candidates are advised to go through the new syllabus thoroughly and start preparing accordingly.
