• About NMTC Tests: The National Mathematics Talent Contest (NMTC) aims to identify and nurture students with the potential for original and creative thinking, encouraging them to tackle unfamiliar and non-routine mathematical problems while demonstrating appropriate general mathematical abilities for their grade level. The registration fee for each candidate is Rs. 150, with Rs. 125 sent to the AMTI, and the institution retains Rs. 25 to cover expenses such as downloading and printing question papers, providing answer sheets, and invigilation costs. 

• About Math Kangaroo: Math Kangaroo is a national nonprofit organisation dedicated to developing a love for mathematics among students. With over 27 years of experience, it organises an annual international competition for K-12 students, focusing on improving maths scores, teaching problem-solving strategies, and enhancing critical thinking skills to build confidence in the classroom.

• About AMC 8: The AMC 8 test, organised by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), serves as the middle school equivalent of the AMC 10. The initial test in a series is designed to evaluate students’ abilities and help them qualify for the USA(J)MO and the U.S. International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) team.

• About AMC 10 & 12: The American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10) and AMC 12 are among the initial exams designed to challenge talented students, from grades 10 and below, as they progress toward potential selection for the United States team at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO). Top scorers on the AMC 10 and AMC 12 are invited to participate in the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), advancing them further along the competition path. Administered by the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), the AMC 10 receives sponsorship support from Art of Problem Solving (AoPS).

• About IOQM: The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) is a national-level exam that paves the way for students aiming to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). This 3-hour written test evaluates problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and creativity, with no penalty for incorrect answers. It consists of 30 questions, divided into sections worth 2, 3, and 5 marks each, and uses OMR technology for evaluation.

• About RMO: The Regional Math Olympiad (RMO) is the second stage of India’s maths talent search, conducted under the guidance of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Mumbai. This 3-hour exam features 6 questions, with evaluations managed by regional coordinators. Top students from grades VIII to XII and selected female students advance to the next stage, with results announced centrally by HBCSE.

• About NSEJS: The National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS), held annually since 1987, is a challenging science exam for secondary students in India, conducted in multiple languages. Organised by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), it attracts over 80,000 participants. Eligible students, typically in Class X or below, compete for a chance to advance to the Indian National Junior Science Olympiad, with the top performers progressing to further stages leading to the International Junior Science Olympiad. The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions in physics, chemistry, and biology.
