Hint: The tale of two protagonists, Jumman Shaikh and Alagu Chowdhary, and their connection is told in 'God Lives in the Panch’. Even though their personalities are vastly different, they have a deep trust in one another and enjoy an unbreakable connection. The entire hamlet applauds their dedication to one another.

Complete answer:
As luck would have it, after some days of passing a judgement against his dear friend Jumman who had a feud with his elderly aunt, one of Alagu's bullocks died. He was forced to sell his other bullock to Samjhu Sahu, a cart owner, due to a lack of options. Samjhu was a ruthless and opportunistic individual.

He overworked the bullock to the point of maltreatment in order to increase his earnings. As a result, the tired animal died, leaving Samjhu in a pickle. The sale agreement between Alagu and Samjhu stipulated a one-month grace period for payment. Within that time frame, the bullock died, and Samjhu chose to refuse Alagu's unpaid payment. Samjhu became rebellious after being pressured by other villagers to stop paying, and a quarrel erupted between the two men. Alagu chose to knock on the doors of the panchayat because he had no other choice.

Samjhu was asked to propose a name for the Panch at the Panchayat meeting. He proposed to Jumman for the chair of the session, knowing the history. Alagu accepted his fate and awaited the outcome of the proceedings. Which put him in a tight spot.

Note: The protagonists of the story's ethical beliefs masterfully combine the weaknesses of human nature with the strength to overcome them. Any great organisation is only as good as the people who run and manage it.

The age-old saying "with great power comes tremendous responsibility" only holds true when people follow their conscience and do their duty.
