Hint: The Swaraj Party was established in the Gaya Annual session of the Indian national Congress in 1922. The aim was to aim for greater self governance and political freedom from the British rule to the Indians.

Complete answer:
The withdrawal of the Non Cooperation movement by Mahatma Gandhi, the Government of India act 1919 and the 1923 elections led to the formation of the Swaraj party. The party was founded by Motilal Nehru and C.R Das. Motilal Nehru was the Secretary and C.R Das was the President. The party was formed from the idea of swaraj which means “self rule” or “independence”.

The reasons behind the formation of the Swaraj party are:
1. The Non Cooperation movement was withdrawn by Mahatma Gandhi in 1922. This led to differences of opinion within the Congress.
2. Some members wanted the Non Cooperation movement to continue. They were Sardar Patel, Rajendra Prasad and C Gopalachari. Others wanted to end the boycott of the Legislature and continue the election. They were CR Das and Motilal Nehru who broke away from the party.

Option B is the correct answer.

Note: Other notable leaders of the Swaraj party were Subhas Chandra Bose, NC Kelkar. The major aims of the party were: dominion status, obtaining the right to frame a constitution, establishing control over the bureaucracy, attaining complete self rule, organising industrial and agricultural labour and others. The main aim of the Swaraj party was to obstruct the programmes of the government. They boycotted all functions of the government and voiced all their concerns in the legislative assembly.
