Hint: Astronomy is that the study of everything within the universe beyond Earth's atmosphere. That has objects we will see with our naked eyes, just like the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and therefore the stars. It also includes objects we will only see with telescopes or other instruments, like faraway galaxies and tiny particles.

Complete answer:
The first person to seem to call at space with a telescope was Galileo. He got his inspiration from Hans Lippershey then invented the spyglass year 1609. When the spyglass was discovered, it got Galileo's interest and he started making one among his own.
He then pointed it towards the sky and saw all the celebs and galaxies out there. He also saw that the world was orbiting the sun and not the other way around. Galileo got punished by the pope for this discovery because it defied the bible.
This changed tons because he was ready to prove that the world was orbiting the sun, making more people question the bible and making more people eager to determine more about space. So astronomy has been an enormous factor when it involves the trustworthiness of the bible. Without astronomy, we might probably not have atheism and therefore the church would have an enormous impact on all of our behavior.

Note:
Due to astronomy we've been ready to come up with new theories for a way the universe was created, getting more religious freedom and separating us from Christianity more and more. We've also gotten how to predict the course of asteroids and give us more knowledge of how the universe works.
