Hint:The Rani of Jhansi well known as Rani Lakshmibai was a remembered freedom fighter of India who fought during 1857 in the Indian Revolt.

Complete answer:
Rani Lakshmibai was born in the year 1828 on 19th November in Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The original of Lakshmibai was Manikarnika Tambe and nicknamed Manu by her parents. Her father named Moropant Tambe and mother Bhagirathi Sapre belonged to the state of Maharashtra. At the age of four she lost her mother and grew up as an independent child as compared to others.

The contributions made by Lakshmibai are of great immense respect which became an important name in the struggle of freedom against Britishers. Some of the important points about the 1857 Revolt are-

1. Lord Dalhousie tried to take over Jhansi after the death of the Maharaja, i.e. husband of Lakshmibai and her real son because she had adopted the son of her cousin who cannot be legal heir.
2. Rani refused this take over by Dalhousie and fought in Meerut for her minor son.
3. Sir Hugh Rose arrived at the Jhansi on instructions by the British army to capture it and commanded the surrender or it would be destroyed.
4. Still, Rani refused to surrender and fought the battle tying her son on her back but lost the battle and escaped with Tatya Tope and other soldiers.
5. She moved towards Gwalior to fight the Britishers where she died while fighting at the age of 29 years on 18th June 1858 and made history.

Note: The most prominent poem on her was written by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan who is a renowned poet Of Allahabad wrote, ‘Khoob ladi mardaani woh toh Jhansi wali Rani Thi’.
