Hint:
The part of the Peninsular plateau is lying to the north of the Narmada river. It covers the major area of the Malwa plateau and it is known as the Central Highlands. The Deccan Plateau is having the shape of the triangular landmass. It lies towards the south side of the Narmada.

Complete solution:
The east-flowing rivers are Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and the Kaveri which are the major east flowing rivers of peninsular plateau. On the other hand, the west-flowing rivers Narmada and the Tapi are the major west-flowing rivers of the peninsular plateau.
East flowing rivers drain into the Bay of Bengal, whereas west These Rivers drain into the Arabian Sea.

East flowing rivers form deltas on the east coast. Whereas west-flowing rivers do not form any delta. They form estuaries.

East flowing rivers have a developed and large tributary system. Whereas the west-flowing rivers are devoid of any developed tributary system.

Additional Information:
Most of the major Peninsular Rivers except the Narmada and Tapi flow from west to east direction. The other major river systems of the peninsular drainage are Mahanadi and Godavari as well as the Krishna and Kaveri. Peninsular rivers are characterized by the fixed course and the absence of meander flow of water.

Note:
The peninsular rivers are mainly originating from the peninsular plateaus and small hills of India. These rivers are of the kind of seasonal or non-perennial, based on the receiver of water from the rains and hence cannot maintain the water flow throughout the year.
