Hint: Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns and pronouns. Adjectives have three degrees of comparison.
1) Positive degree of adjectives - Young
2) Comparative degree of adjectives - Younger
3) Superlative degree of adjectives - Youngest

Complete answer :
The given sentence is comparing the heights of two people Amit and Ajay. When two items/people are compared we use the comparative degree of adjective by putting “er” to the adjective word and also the word than is used. So the correct option is A.
The adjective in the given sentence is tall as we can clearly see. Option C is incorrect since it is a superlative adjective. An adjective is in superlative degree when it is used to compare more than two items/people. Option A and B are close enough answers but option B is incorrect because whenever “as” is used before an adjective to make it comparative, the adjective should be followed by another as but in this case only one as in given so option B is incorrect. “ as tall as “ would have been correct.
The correct option is A TALLER THAN. Since option A is correct, so option D is incorrect. The complete sentence is Ajay is taller than Amit.

Hence Option A is the correct answer.

Notes: In these types of questions it is important to know the three degrees of comparison i.e. the positive, comparative, superlative.
