Hint: Protection of diverse wildlife in the forest is generally termed as wildlife conservation. Wildlife is the animals and birds that live in the forests. So the wood is their natural habitat, and destruction of the forests leads these animals to become homeless finally.
Complete answer:
Generally, forests are referred to as the lungs of the Earth. So according to these, they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen into the atmosphere by which we take in while breathing and later it is used for respiration and other processes by our body. Also, they play a vital role in maintaining the clouds and in turn the rainfall pattern, humidity, climate stability, and air quality etc. in a large amount.
Conservation of forest
We should conserve forests as they are essential & source of life for us in the following terms:
1. It provides us with oxygen, they cause rainfall.
2. It prevents soil erosion.
3. Plants are dependent on animals and birds for their pollination and seed dispersal.
4. It provides us with various medicines.
5. A lot of forest products are used as raw materials in industries.
Conservation of wildlife
Wildlife is the part and parcel of the ecosystem. So they play a major role in maintaining the ecological balance. Even some animals also help in cleaning the environment. So for their contribution, we have to conserve the wildlife due to following reasons:
1. They are the consistent element of nature which gives life to other animals.
2. Ecological balance is maintained by the wildlife community in which some species are extinct and some are on the verge of extinction.
So we have to protect the endangered species. Wildlife has equal rights to stay on this planet as others have.
The Wildlife sanctuaries, National parks and Biosphere are the main three types of protected area in which we have been earmarked for the conservation of forest and wildlife in general. So for conserving and protecting the wildlife we have various wildlife sanctuaries, national park and bio reserves. The main purpose of National parks in our country is to conserve and protect the endangered species first. Also to maintain the ecological balance as well as to give the shelter to the endemic species randomly.
The national park, Wildlife sanctuaries, Biospheres-
purpose of establishing these several Biosphere Reserve, Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks in India to conserve and protect the endangered species which presents in the least amount. For maintaining the ecological balance and giving the shelter to the endemic species, they have a key role. That's why forests and wildlife are complementary to each other.
Note:
Forests are useful for us because they provide the essentials for us such as food, air oxygen and other things such as woods and animals. Forest provides woods and so many plants useful for medical purposes. Biodiversity is the area in which a variety of flora and fauna shows the geographical area and refers to the variety of life.
