Hint: Waste management is the process which includes different activities that would reduce the waste generation. Hierarchy is the way of arrangement of things above or below the other. As a part of waste management, we perform different activities one after the other. All the above mentioned activities are meant to reduce waste, but the proper sequence could result in efficient management.
Complete answer:
As a part of this waste management, the first thing we do is to reduce the production of waste which is nothing but the preventive step. When you start preventing waste production, the amount of waste generated could be in less quantity. Ater this step, we try to find alternative ways to use the waste products instead of discarding them. This is nothing but reusing things. By now we tried to reduce and reuse the waste. If we are not able to reuse the things, we go for recycling where it can be processed into another product that reduces the need of new material. The last step is disposal where you discard the waste as they cannot be brought into use by any means. So the correct order is Prevention-Reuse-Recycle-Disposal.
Hence option D is the correct answer
Note:
Waste management is the need of the hour because it leads to many environmental problems and is also said to be the reason for a wide range of pollution. The 3R’s principle must be followed which means reduce, reuse and recycle. By following this, waste generation cannot be completely prevented but atleast can be minimized.
