This method focuses on the interaction and interdependence of various elements in nature rather than focusing on individual elements at a time. Agroforestry is beneficial to the crops, as it reduces soil erosion; the interaction of different types of shrubbery keeps biological activity flowing, keeping the soil fertile.
Forest farming is the agriculture of high quality specialty crops under a forest cover that is deliberately altered or preserved to keep in check the shade levels and habitat that indulge in growth and improve production amount. These projects range between small scales to large scale. Trees are also grown on farms for additional commercial and non-commercial benefits, including timber production, ground water control etc. While some trees are grown for one specific purpose, there are many trees that can be planted for achieving multiple benefits.

Note: It must be noted that agroforestry and farm forestry are very similar to each other, however they must not be confused with each other.
