Hint: Chinese emperors started the Silk preparation. Also, it speeded far wide. The Chinese rulers would send gifts of silk to rulers in Iran west Asia. Around 2000 years after, wearing silk became a fashion among all rulers and rich people in the city of Rome.

Complete answer:
China was the first country to start and supply silk; they then established the trade routes in order to corroborate and establish links with all the world countries and this attempt of the Chinese rulers in order to initiate trade between countries and supply silk to other countries is what led to the Silk Route. Silk had a fine texture and became extremely popular in a very less span of time, for a large period of time the Chinese Emperors tried to keep the way silk was manufactured a secret from other countries. Within less than a decade after the silk came into the light there were large shipments being made to Rome. Rome became the country with its highest export of Silk and thus becoming a fashion capital at that point in time.
Silk route existed from 2nd century BC to 14th century AD. Even though the silk route was initially established to supply silk to all the western countries it was later used for trading several other things like spices, stones, art, and crafts, etc. After Rome the Middle Eastern countries and Europe largely invested in Silk and bought huge quantities of Silk into their country, the route had a group of trading posts and markets that were used to help in transport, and exchange of goods. It was also known as the Silk Road. In 2013 it was reinstated by the Chinese Government in order to increase their trade value and re-establish connections with Middle Eastern and European countries.

Note: Countries now exchanged ideas, crafts, and mechanisms which led to everyone’s overall development. Even Indian Rulers tried to control the Silk route to reduce their taxes and also supply spices and other important commodities produced by India.
