Participles are of two types 1) Present participle 2) Past participle.As a present participle, the participle will be given in -ing form, mostly used in active voice. As a past participle, the participle will be given in ed, en etc. type of form, mostly used in passive voice.
Use	Gerunds can be used as a subject, an object and they can also be used as a subject complement or an object of a preposition	Participles are used after a noun or main verb or before a noun to modify verbs, nouns, noun phrases and verb phrases in a sentence.

- Gerund and participles along with infinitives are known as verbals.
- Sentences framed with gerunds will never have punctuation marks and will always have a main verb.
