Hint: Animals with pseudocoelom are called pseudocoelomates and pseudocoelom is a body cavity that is present among the mesodermal and endodermal layer and is not fully encapsulated by mesodermal tissue. Coelomates are animals with true coelom.
The true coelom is fully encapsulated by mesodermal tissue, and hence can be further classified into compartments.
Complete answer:
Note:
-The Fluids that are motile within the body spaces can provide the same function as a circulatory system. These spaces are also used to store eggs but some organisms.
-These cavities with fluid inside them behave as a hydrostatic skeleton in lower soft-bodied animals. This is necessary because water is not compressible and a major part of an animal's body is water.
-The animals which have internal water-filled cavities can resist external pressure and the gravitational pull of the earth, and thus keep a constant body structure.
The true coelom is fully encapsulated by mesodermal tissue, and hence can be further classified into compartments.
Complete answer:
Pseudo coelom | True coelom |
A pseudo coelom is derived from the hollow space present in the blastula Or blastocoel at an early condition of embryonic development | In the case of a true coelom, it develops by an insertion inside the embryonic mesoderm also known as the schizocoelom. |
It stays attached on the exterior by the ectoderm and internally by the endodermal layer. | The cavity of the true coelom is therefore attached by a layer of mesodermal cells known as the peritoneum. |
Pseudo coelom does not ensure complete protection of all internal organs and its functions are limited compared to true coelom. | The coelomic cavity is full of coelomic fluid that cushions and protects the organs suspended in it, also aiding in the prevention of internal damages. The cavity lets the internal organs increase in size and move freely off the exterior body wall. This is one reason why our body surface does not warp whenever our heartbeat or the intestines contract. |
Pseudo coelom allows an increase in the size of organs partially. | True Coeloms also let animals grow bigger and thicker in size |
