Windward' is the side of an island where the prevailing wind comes to the island from the sea.	Leeward" is the side of an island where the predominant wind travels from the interior of the island to the sea.
The side of the mountain facing the wind laden with moisture is called the windward side mountain.	Leeward mountain is named the other side of the mountain that does not face the laden moisture.
Heavy rainfall gets to this side of the mountain.	The rainfall can not hit this side of the mountain.
