The light enters the eye through the pupil, which helps in regulating the amount of light entering the eye. The anterior chamber consists of aqueous humor, whereas the posterior chamber consists of vitreous humor, as its fluid material. The cornea is the protective covering of the lens. The ciliary muscles help with the expansion and contraction in the vision. The optic nerve helps in converting the photographic signals into the nerve impulse that reaches the brain.

The rods and the cons cells are present in the retina. Both the cells aid with the vision and light perception for the human eye. The rods are found in the retina and the cones are mainly situated in the fovea or the blind spot.

The rods are able to function in the night vision because they are highly sensitive to light. On the other hand, the cone cells could detect the wide range of light spectrum consisting of the light protons and are thus responsible for the color vision.

Note: Retina is a light sensitive cell and it gets activated on illumination which generates electrical signals. The rods and cones are compartmentalized structurally. These are the type of photoreceptor cells. Cones are sensitive to blue, green, and red lights.
