Hint: When cotton fibres are weaved continuously in interlocking patterns, the resulting long length of fibre is called as Yarn
Complete step by step answer: Spinning is an ancient technique used to make yarn out of fibres. In this process, the fibres are twisted together to get a long, continuous and interlocked chain which is called a yarn. Initially this entire process was done on hand operated tools. A circular wheel of large size is used to spin the fibres. The high ratio between the large wheel and the whorl helps the spinner to turn the bobbin faster. So, the speed of production increases. However, the industrial revolution proved to be a boon for this and now this process is done on fully automated machines. The direction in which the yarn is spun is called a twist. On basis of direction of twist. S and Z type are the two types of yarns. Craftsmen sometimes use both methods to get a semi- from of the yarn. The number of twists present per inch determine the tightness.
Additional information: Yarn is widely used in textile, sewing, embroidery and rope making. This can be made from a number of different natural as well as synthetic fibres however, cotton is most commonly used.
Handmade yarn is still a very popular handcraft all over the world.
Note: Majorly we can see two types of fibres form which yarn is produced i.e. fibres of plant origin and those of animal origin. Cotton, Bamboo and Hemp are examples of plant origin fibres. Whereas, fibres of animal origin include, yak or Bison hair, Silk, Angora, etc.
