Hint: The free movement of water in the soil that is trapped between soil particles and is then transported to the underground to increase the water table below the ground.
Complete answer:
The gravitational water is the movement of water with reference to the force of gravity. The water is stored in the layers of the soil during the rainfall and then will transport it from the upper layer of the soil to the lower layers and the roots. The soil particles hold the water molecules, if the water molecule is trapped inside a small and complex soil particle then it will be difficult for the water to be released but if the water is present in a larger soil particle then it can move easily from the soil to the lower layer as per the force of gravity.
When the rainfall occurs continuously for few days, the water will reach to its saturation points and no extra water can be a bed in there which results in the movement of water but if the rainfall occurs scarcely then the water will be absorbed by the upper layer of the soil and is present in a smaller amount which will not flow downwards. If it flows downwards then the upper soil layers will have no water left.
The other types of water present in the soil are capillary water (when the water flows from soil particles of the upper layer to the lower layers than it will leave behind a small amount of water for the moisture in the soil particles), hygroscopic water(the decrease in the amount of water due to evaporation and root abortion resulting in a very thin layer of water on the soil particles), and chemically combined water (the water molecules present at the end with some chemicals and ions in the soil).
Note: The force of gravity is the force of attraction between two objects and it makes the two objects come close towards each other. It holds the objects in place and steady in falling. The shape of the water droplets is spherical due to the presence of gravity in it.
