2) Rajya Sabha: Being the Upper House of the Parliament, it can accommodate a maximum of 250 members. Out of which 238 are elected by the Parliament and 12 are appointed by the President of India. Although the working tenure of the Rajya Sabha members is 6 years, still one-third members change after every two years.
3) Lok Sabha: It is referred to as the Lower House of the Indian Parliament. The members of Lok Sabha are elected for five years or until the whole Sabha is dissolved by the President. It has accommodation of 543 seats and its people are elected by the citizens of India. The Head of the House is known as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. He is elected from among the members of the house with a valid voting procedure. He carries out all the meetings that happen in the Lok Sabha.
The Head of the Lok Sabha is the Prime Minister of India. The Prime Minister of India is considered as the main authority of the Government of India. He is elected for a term of five years by the election procedure that holds all over the country. He advises the President of the country on various legislative matters and helps him in making better decisions.
