Hint: In this question we have to find how long will it take for a rocket ship to reach Venus. As we know that humans have never reached Venus but there are many projects in which the spacecraft from earth had flown by Venus. So, in the following explanation we will see how much time it would take to reach or fly by Venus.
Complete solution:
First ever spacecraft to Venus was Soviet Venera 1, it was launched on 12th February, 1961. It did not reach Venus as scientists lost connection with it. It was thought that it would have covered 100,000 km distance on 19th May; it took 97 days to cover this distance.
First successful Venus flyby was Mariner 2 which was a project of NASA. It was launched on 8th August, 1962 and it made a successful flyby on 14th December, 1962. This spacecraft took 110 days from launch to arrival at Venus.
Most recent spacecraft to flyby Venus was ESA’s Venus express. It was launched on 9th November, 2005 and it took 153 days to reach or flyby Venus.
As we can see that there is a big difference between the number of days taken it is because we have to travel on a transfer orbit that moves us between earth and Venus.
Result- Hence, the above explanation shows how long a rocket ship will take to reach Venus.
Note: Hence, from the above explanation we can see that to reach Venus is a tedious task. It is very important for us to launch the rocket ship at the escape velocity. So that it will leave the gravitational field of earth. These times given in the above explanation are predicted one the actual timing to reach Venus is not cleared yet.
