Hint: First meiotic division and first meiosis proceed by the germ cells are formed in the reduction of the chromosomes that’s number is reduced in the form of diploid to haploid. The equational division number is equally divided into the two daughter’s cells after the mitosis division.
Complete answer:
The number of the chromosomes are produced by the cell division in the gametes that’s produced in the form of egg and sperm. The production of the gametes half the number of the chromosomes and occur only in the ovaries and testes (gonads).
Because of the four haploid cells, meiosis shows a special type of result during the cell division in the meiosis. In the first meiotic division 46 resulted chromosomes obtained in the each cells and 4 haploid cells obtained in the second round of the meiotic division, meiosis 2 produced separate daughter cells in the two chromatids of the each chromosomes but the number of chromosomes remain same in the case of meiosis 1. And the meiosis 2 is known as the equational division and homotypic division. But in the mitosis half the number of chromosomes divide thus as a name of equational division.
Note: The equational division also refers to a second meiotic division and does not reduce the number of chromosomes present in it and the same ploidy is obtained after the cell division. And the equational division in the meiosis is also referred to as a meiosis 2. In the reduction the number chromosomes reduced to the half of the original number after the division.
