Hint: A monsoon is the variation of strong winds in a particular area throughout a specific season or time period. Monsoons are the reason for wet and dry seasons throughout much of the tropical regions of the world. Monsoon is the reason for huge torrential rains which have similar effects of a hurricane. monsoon is a seasonal wind which can carry multiple storms.
Note: Winter monsoons or dry monsoons remain very delicate in action in the Indian geographical region than summer monsoons or wet monsoon. This occurrence is due to the presence of Himalayas, which prevents the winds from approaching the coastal line. The Himalayas also prevent much of the cool air from reaching places like southern India and Sri Lanka, keeping them warm all year. Winter monsoons are sometimes associated with droughts.

Complete answer:
There are two types of monsoons, Wet and Dry.
A wet monsoon is the type of monsoon which produces storms which occurs during the summer season (April-September). Around 75 percent of India's annual rainfall and about 50 percent of North American comes during the summer monsoon season. The wet monsoon begins right after the air surrounding the oceans gets cold and travels to low density regions. A dry monsoon happens in the months of October and April. The winds arrive from the dry regions such as upper east Asia and move to Indian subcontinent. Dry monsoons are comparatively slow and peaceful.
Retreat of monsoon happens around September to December as the winds which are the sources for monsoon become weaker and withdraw. The sky will become clearer as the clouds slowly move away. As the clouds disappear, the atmosphere will appear and the pressure decreases. As a result, huge tropical cyclones will start to form in the Bay of Bengal which creates colder temperatures.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).
