Hint: The context of the above question is given in the poem ‘The Ant and The Cricket’ adapted from Aesop’s Fables. Fable refers to a moral story with animal characters.

Complete answer:
Summary of the story of the ant and the cricket - There was an ant and a cricket. The cricket enjoyed his days before winter by singing and dancing while the ant prepared itself for the winters by hoarding its food. So, in winters cricket was cold and hungry. It went to the ant for help but, the ant denied. Ant suggested he spend his time singing and dancing in the winters as well.

The moral of the story is that one must do their work on time. Had the cricket prepared for the winters along with enjoying the moment he would not have to beg for help? This also tells that work and play both are vital for us. When we work hard in the present moment, we save ourselves from the troubles of tomorrow.

Another moral that can be derived from the story is that we cannot rely on anyone in the time of need. People tend to leave us alone in our difficult times by making excuses therefore we must try to become self-sufficient. Also, instead of being miser like the ant, we must try to help those that are in need.

Note: The ant and the cricket in the poem are characteristics of the people who are futuristic and those that are silly, respectively. Those that are futuristic are able to sustain during times of trouble.
