 Shahab-ud-din Muhammad Khurram best known by his regnal name Shah Jahan which means king of the world in Persian, was the fifth ruler of Mughal empire, and reigned from 1628-1658.

His end days were dreadful. He was captivated in Agra fort by his son Aurangzeb. He died at the age 74 and his body was laid to rest in Taj Mahal next to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
His original name was Khurram which means 'Joyful' in Persian. Salim was the name of Shah Jahan's father, Emperor Jahangir and Bahadur Shah was the last Mughal emperor.
