Hint: Sarojini Naidu was a renowned political activist and an important figure in India’s freedom struggle from the colonial British empire. She was also an eminent poet and widely known as the ‘Nightingale of India’. She was born in Hyderabad in 1879 in a Bengali family. Her father was the principal in the Nizam’s college of Hyderabad and her mother was a Bengali poet. She completed her schooling from the University of Madras and then went to study at King’s College London and Girton College in Cambridge. She joined the Indian Independence movement after the Partition of Bengal in 1905. She joined Mahatma Gandhi’s Satyagraha movement in 1920 and took part in the Dandi March of 1930 after which she was arrested along with other leaders of the Indian National Congress.
