Hint: In this question first we will study about the phenomena which lead to the splitting of white light. Further we will discuss these light and its wavelength range. Also, we will see how we can see the phenomena by ourselves. These all will help to make the suitable diagram with better understanding.

Complete step by step solution:
As we know that the dispersion is the phenomena of splitting of white light into seven colours i.e., violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red also called VIBGYOR. The band of these seven colours is known as spectrum.
We can observe this process of splitting of white light into seven colours, by keeping the prism upside down the seven colours recombine to give white light.
Below is the ray diagram showing the recombination of the spectrum of white light by prism.

Additional information:
We should also know some of the important points about the spectrum of light. It consists of seven different colors, which are Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red (VIBGYOR). Further, these are arranged in increasing order of wavelength. Red light has the highest wavelength and lowest frequency (Wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency).VIBGYOR comes under visible region, which has wavelength ranging from 400nm to 700nm. There are different regions like the infrared region, far infrared region, ultraviolet region, gamma region.
There are many different applications of these colors depending on the wavelength and frequency of the particular light. We see the danger zone sign and ‘stop’ traffic light sign, in red color because red has the maximum wavelength and it can be visible from far distance.

Note:
Red light has the highest wavelength and therefore is used in traffic lights, danger boards etc. Wavelength of yellow color (580nm) is lower than that of red color (650nm) but the lateral peripheral vision of yellow color is 1.24 times greater than red color.
