He was one of the most important freedom fighters in Indian history. This true Indian man was born at Cuttack, Orissa on January 23, 1897 to Prabhavati Dutt Bose and Janakinath Bose and was the ninth child among the fourteen children.
His early years of schooling were attended at his place of origin. Later he was sent to England to prepare for the Indian Civil Services Examination which he passed with 4th position.
