After a duration of 2-5 days, these larvae then get metamorphosed into pupae that are reddish brown in appearance, and approximately 8 millimeters in length.
The adult housefly has the capability to live for about two to four weeks; also they are capable of hibernating during the winter season. The female housefly gets matured after 24 hours, whereas the male housefly takes 16 hours. The entire lifecycle to be an adult housefly takes about 10 days to complete. But in adverse conditions it could even take months to do so.
An average lifespan of a housefly is about 3 week for both the males and females.
Hence, the correct answer is option (B).
