Hint: Apes are any primates of the Hylobatidae (gibbons) and Hominidae (chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, orangutans, and human beings) families. The only ape found in India is present in the northeastern part of India.

Complete answer:
Hoolock Gibbon, the tailless, is the only ape found in India. The primate is native to Northeast India, Southwest China, and eastern Bangladesh. In all the states of the north-east, between the south of the Brahmaputra River and the east of the Dibang River, the Hoolock Gibbon is divided into two groups (western Gibbon and southern Gibbon). It is found outside of India in eastern Bangladesh and north-western Myanmar. Hoolock Gibbons are primates that belong to the family Hylobatidae. They are the second largest of all Gibbons.
a) Orangutan: The Orangutan, a Malay term, means the individual of the jungle. Contained only in Sumatra and Borneo, they are long-haired, orange primates, highly intelligent and are close relatives of humans. Their hands almost hit the ground while Orangutans stand.
b) Gorilla: Gorillas are terrestrial primates, mainly herbivorous, living in the forests of central Sub-Saharan Africa. There are two members in the Gorilla genus: the Eastern Gorillas and the Western Gorillas, and four or five subspecies. They are the biggest primates alive.
c) Chimpanzees: Chimpanzees spend most of their days on treetops in their habitat in the forests of Central Africa. Chimps usually ride on all fours when they come down to earth, but they can walk for as much as a mile on their legs like humans. To fish termites out of mounds and a bunch of leaves to sop up drinking water, they use sticks.

Hence, the correct answer is option C.

Note: Hoolock gibbons are the only ape present on the Indian subcontinent. Gibbon sexes are about the same size, but they differ considerably in colouration: males are black-coloured with remarkable white brows, while females have a grey-brown fur, which is darker at the chest and neck.
