Hint: A point is usually used to refer to an element or set in space. It is a primitive notion and is a building block of geometry and cannot be defined in terms of previously defined objects. A group of points arranged in a sequence is known as a line.

Complete answer:The term latitude is used to define the geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south position of a point on the surface of the Earth. It is defined in terms of angle and ranges from 0 degrees which is at the Equator and 90 degrees which is at the North or South poles. To locate a point, we need its latitude as well as its longitude. Longitude is the geographic coordinate that specifies the east-west position of a point on the surface of the Earth. It is an angular measurement and expressed in degrees, and is denoted by Lambda. There are meridian lines running from pole to pole which connect the same longitudes and the 0-degree longitude is considered as the prime meridian which passes through Royal Observatory, England. The longitudes which are east of the prime meridian are positive, and to the west are negative. It ranges from 0 to 180 degrees. Further, the degree can be divided into minutes and minutes into seconds. An example of the coordinates of India is given by 20.5937 degrees N, 78.9629 degrees E. Here N represents north and it lies 20.59 degrees above the equator and E represents East and it lies 78.96 degrees east of the prime meridian.

Note: To know the exact location of a point we should know the exact coordinates which are given by the length, breadth and height from a given center.
