Hint: Sowing is the process by which seeds are buried inside the soil. After sowing, the seeds germinate inside the soil and then grow up to become a complete plant. Germination is also known as the sprouting of seeds. It is the process through which the entire organism grows from a seed or a spore.

Complete answer:
We all are well aware of the fact that to grow any plant we need seeds. We bury these seeds inside the soil. This is known as sowing. There are various methods of sowing.

> Traditional Method: A funnel-shaped instrument is used as a tool to sow the seeds. The instrument consists of two or three pipes. The seeds are filled in this instrument and are passed through the pipes directly into the soil.

> Dibbling: Inside the seedbeds, several holes are made; the seeds are then placed inside these holes and covered. The instrument that is used to make holes inside the soil is known as dibblers.

> Drilling: Several furrows are made in the soil. Seeds are then dropped into these furrows and covered with soil. It should be ensured that the seeds are placed with proper spacing at proper depth.

> Transplanting: In this method, the seeds are first sown in the nurseries. When the saplings develop, these are then transferred into the fields.

Note: There are various methods by which sowing can be done. There are several precautions, which must be kept in mind while sowing the seeds, such as: choosing healthy diseases free seeds, sowing at regular intervals with proper spacing and depth. The soil should be of optimal moisture and should neither be too dry or too wet. The sowing by drilling method is advantageous to use as the seeds can be sown in consistent depth and space.
