When the ulnar nerve collides with the humerus (say: HYOO-muh-rus), the long bone that runs from your elbow to your shoulder, you experience that strange sensation. Your elbow, arm, or ulnar nerve are not harmed by tapping your funny bone. It does, however, feel odd!
