Hint: In order to solve this problem we have to consider that the number which has the highest number in the highest place of all the numbers then that number will be greatest of all and the opposite is true if the numbers are with a negative sign. (Here place means ones, tens etc.)

Complete step-by-step answer:
The given numbers are 0.3 and 0.4.
The whole part of 0.3 and 0.4 are the same i.e. 1. But, 0.3 forms a lower value while 0.4 is 0.1 decimal more that 0.3. Thus, 0.4 is greater than 0.3.

The value of integers can be determined by analyzing their tenth's place. In this case, 4 is greater than 3.
This means with every exceeding point of decimal the value of the integer increases too.

Note: When you have asked to find the greater number among the given numbers than the first thing you have to consider is whether the number is with a negative sign or with not. If it is with no sign then the number is positive then you have to consider the highest place of all the numbers. The number which has the highest number in the highest place of all the numbers then that number will be greatest of all and the opposite is true if the numbers are with a negative sign. Proceeding like this will give you the right answer.
