Student life is a phase in an individual’s life when an individual learns and adopts innumerable things. We can say that in this phase an individual is like a wet clay pot, it takes the shape which it is given. Therefore, it is very important what an individual learns at this tender age of being a student.
One such aspect which can be learnt at this phase is social service. Let us discuss in brief what social service is. A social service is a deed or an act done in the welfare of people in a society.
We human beings are a wonderful creature of nature. We have evolved efficiently with the passing ages. We ourselves have become creators of a number of things. Example: We have created technology, society, science, education, morals and a number of other physiological and psychological and sociological factors. Let us discuss one of these factors closely, that is, society. This society consists of humans of different types. Humans from different races, culture, economical backgrounds, intellect and a lot of differentiating factors. These factors might not be fulfilling for everyone. Let us say, someone lacks money for their education, someone is physically challenged, someone struggles for basic needs like food everyday. The challenges are unending. As humans it is our duty to help other humans in need. And we can infuse this outlook in an individual at a phase when they are still learning, that is as students. Students can offer a lot of social services. All social services are not necessarily done by a lot of money. There is a lot in the capacity of students to give to society. There are a number of ways in which students can serve the society. Students can feed the stray animals , they can make efforts and collect food for the poor. They can teach upto their capacity to the kids who are deprived of education. They can volunteer in old age homes, foster houses, hospitals , temples and other religious or social places to help those in need any way possible. It will be unfair to underestimate a student for doing social services. Because, there are many possible ways in which a student can help the society even in the smallest way possible. One should always encourage others to do their part for society.
