My Favourite Festival
India is a land of culture. As a part of this culture, many festivals are celebrated in India. My favourite festival is “Dussehra”. It is generally celebrated in the month of October. Dussehra falls on the tenth day of navratri. Dussehra is celebrated as the mark of the win of good over evil. Lord Rama won the battle against Ravana who abducted Goddess Sita, and killed him. To mark this victory, people of India celebrate Dussehra. Dussehra is celebrated by burning down huge effigies of Ravana in large grounds. These grounds are called the Ram Leela maidans. And the burning of Ravana’s effigies is preceded by a small skit summarising the Ramayana. It is then followed by beautiful fireworks. What I like the most about this festival is the fact that these grounds have various stalls installed that includes stalls of toys, eateries, fun games etc. It is a treat to visit these grounds and celebrate Dussehra. Dussehra is a festival of celebration of truth, power, bravery and hope.
Note: Write your original own thoughts and views on your favourite festival. Include sensible and relevant information. Do not write irrelevant facts and data. Do not make spelling mistakes. Make proper use of tenses.
