Complete answer:
The aftermath of atomization on Hiroshima
Seven Boeing Super Fortresses were meticulously prepared for the maneuver of atomization on Hiroshima. Colonel Paul Tibbets was the pilot on board in the aircraft which carried the atom bomb. The explosive was amalgamated, set to blow up not on contact but just after dropping from the height of 29,000 feet. It was set to blast precisely 2,000 feet above Hiroshima.
Nearly for about 42 seconds after the bomb was dropped, nothing had happened. But in the last second of its drop, it travelled, uproariously unheard, almost close to a quarter of a mile. And suddenly it seemed for an immediate extinguishment. There was silence all around. But a haze was formed of microscopic particles of brick and stone, of soil and foliage and human tissue.
Miles and miles of the city Hiroshima were devastated. Eighty percent of the city's buildings were burnt down to ashes in seconds. In a settlement of, at that time, a quarter of a million inhabitants succumbed to the fatality, be it major or minor. The injured victims had not eaten all day; when food was brought to them, the unpleasant smell of not only the wards but the entire area neighboring the hospital was so sickening that they could not swallow.
Some injured and affected people were permanently disabled; the pregnant women aborted and never conceived again. Exterior wounds reopened. Hair fall suddenly became a widespread problem and a minor cut would take months to heal. Fever soared up to 106 degree Celsius, succeeded by bleeding gums, a sharp fall in the red blood-count. Nature determined to re-establish her equilibrium, bred leukocytes by the millions, until the time when white blood count rose above normal and that brought deaths and new disease in its train. The aftermath of the disease was due to the exposure to the radiation caused by the explosion.
Though the scientists are still trying to explore atomic-energy, as it is happily dreamed and claimed to be for the benefit of mankind, a measure of guilt still remains for the action of 6 August, 1945 and that seems unforgivable.
