Hint: Electroplating is defined as the process which is reducing the dissolved metal cations and they produce a thin coherent metal coating on an electrode by the use of electric current. The reduction of metal ions is done by the process of electrolysis to get the dissolved metal ions in the opposite electrode in the form of a uniform coating over it.

Complete step by step answer:
It is commonly used for preventing corrosion. There are some significant types of electroplating like copper plating, silver plating, and gold plating. It permits the producers to create the product with economical substances and then coat the metals to add the characteristics like rust proofing, improving its appearance and improving its strength. So the basic use is protecting metals against corrosion. It is used in order to decorate the articles, providing them with shiny appearances. To glue up the worn out substance also, this method is useful. Electroplating is very much helpful in jewellery making to coat economical metals with precious metals to show them as more attractive and valuable. Often they are more durable. Chromium plating is another useful way we use the process. It is done on vehicle wheel rims, bath fixtures and gas burners to increase the corrosion resistance and also making it more durable. So these are the uses of electroplating. Hence the question is answered completely.

Note: In electroplating, the material which is to be coated will be acting as the cathode which is the negative electrode in an electrolytic cell. The electrolyte will be a solution containing the salt to be coated. The anode or the positive electrode will be an inert conductive material. We generally use any metal block. The current should be provided by an external power supply.
