I went to the Winter Carnival at school today. It was so beautiful! The school lobby was almost unrecognisable because of the amazing decorations, there were glitter and balloons everywhere. And there was music playing. I was there for the drawing competition. The theme was ‘your favourite artist’. It was a theme that was unusual, so a lot of people were confused. But they explained it further saying that we were supposed to paint/draw whatever emulates our favourite artist’s work. My favourite is Van Gogh, his paintings are unparalleled. So, I painted the world-famous almond blossoms with the striking blue background. And I have never been more proud of myself, I gave it my all! I had some trouble understanding which colours to mix, and how to go about drawing the flowers. I was also stressed at the beginning, but I collected my thoughts and calmed down, and eventually, I made the colours I needed. It was a stressful experience. But the biggest shock of all was winning! I won the competition! I couldn’t believe it. I went onto the stage to collect my trophy and everybody I met after that praised me. It is the first competition that I have ever won. I don’t even know what to write, because it is such a new feeling, I feel appreciated and excited about drawing again! Winning something can motivate you in a way that has never motivated you before. It feels nice, and I am looking forward to participating in more competitions even if they don’t lead to a victory.
Note: The concept of diary writing is informal. It is what you would write in your own diary. So, it should not seem formal. There should be no heavy writing. However, make sure that all sentences are grammatically correct.
